BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING (No. 248)

The CAMS Board convened a meeting via telephone conference on Wednesday, 23 November 2011 at 19:00 (AEDT).

CONFIRMATION OF MEETING MINUTES
The Board confirmed Minutes of the Meeting (s) held:

• CAMS Board, 20 October 2011;
• CAMS Audit and Risk Committee, 15 June 2011; and
• CAMS Audit and Risk Committee, 25 October 2011

CAMS 2012 BUDGET
The Board approved the 2012 Budget provided by the CAMS Audit and Risk Committee.

NATIONAL COMPETITION RULES (‘NCR’)
The Board approved amendments to the NCR 6- General to remove reference to “SCDC – a Sport and Development Council of CAMS” which is no longer the correct terminology and to include as an abbreviation ‘the Board of CAMS’ to replace “the Board of Confederation of Australian Motor Sport Ltd” were it appears throughout the NCR’s.

These changes are to be effective from 1 January 2012.

CORPORATE SERVICES REPORT
The Board noted the Corporate Services Report to the 31st of October 2011, including an updated Business Risk Analysis Matrix.

ANTI-DISCRIMINATION, HARASSMENT AND BULLYING POLICY
The Board adopted an updated version of the Anti-discrimination, Harassment and Bullying Policy in accordance with clause 73 of the CAMS Constitution.

HONOURS AND AWARDS COMMITTEE
The Board accepted recommendations from the CAMS Honours and Awards Committee for CAMS Service Star(s), the Phil Irving Award, the Sir Jack Brabham Award, the CAMS Award of Merit and CAMS Life Memberships, along with the CAMS Service Awards and noted that these awards will be awarded at the State Awards Presentations, along with the State Official’s and Australian Official of the Year awards.

2012 STATE COUNCIL CHAIRMAN
The Board noted the election or re-election of the following State Council Chairman for 2012:

• Norman Gowers, Victoria
• Vince Ciccarello, South Australia
• Nick Rahimtulla, Western Australia
• Barry Oliver, Tasmania
• Paul Overall, Queensland
• Neil Turner, New South Wales

AMENDMENTS TO THE PRE LICENCE MEDICAL REQUIREMENTS
The Board noted the proposal from the National Medical Advisory Committee(NMAC) to introduce the provision for an applicant seeking a national / international circuit licence to have the opportunity to use a general medical practitioner (‘GP’) to undertake the medical assessment of their “fitness to compete”, in line with current CAMS Medical Standards.
